The beach
The beach of the homonymous village is located about 10 minutes from the village square, directly below it.
It is the first beach that one finds in the coasts of east Pelion, coming from the south and central Pelion, while shortly after is the more known beach of Labinou.
The element that characterizes Kalamaki beach is rocks. Rocks that surround both ends create some natural "pools" and give it a different, unique identity from other Pelion beaches, while the coast is covered with rounded slates. Besides Kalamaki is well known for its slate mining and so its beach could not be any different. The only things in common with other Pelion, Aegean beaches are the crystal waters that engulf it.
The beach is not organized, so you will need to bring whatever is necessary to for your swim. You can get there by car and after parking in the small-designated area above, walk down through the well-maintained stone stairs and enjoy your swim.
