The beach
The beach of Liri is located on the southeast end of Magnesia, at the foot of the homonymous Pelion settlement. Along, beautiful crystaline Aegean waters it has sand among rocks and some gravel. It doesn’t feature any amenities such as umbrellas, sunbeds or a lifeguard. However this isolation is what attracts many visitors to enjoy their summer swims. It has an amazing view towards the island of Skiathos that is located directly across and also towards Mt.Athos. For activity seekers, many trails start or end at this beach making it an ideal point for the lovers of hiking, while many underwater streams make it favorable for watersports.
It is located in the settlement of Liri where you can enjoy your vacations by staying into a room or a studio and taste delicious local dishes at the area’s taverns. The settlement traces back to ancient times and was founded by people of the neighboring Promyri after a slaughter was carried in their village. If you happen to be in Liri on the 23 of August you will have the chance to enjoy the fair that is organized for celebrating the church of Virgin Mary.
