The beach
In the southeastern region of Pelion, in the Aegean side, is Kastri beach. A quite location with view towards the island of Skiathos offering enjoyable swims in crystal waters. The beach is located in the homonymous seaside settlement that over the last years attracts visitors seeking for unruffled rest in a serene environment. The beach features fine sand and few spots of thin gravel, its tall waves make it ideal for many windsurfers every year for practice their sport.
The beach does not have any organization nor a lifeguard, however the settlement does have dining and accommodation options so if you seek for more amenities, you will have to go to the neighboring village of Platanias, which has better infrastructures. You can also enjoy lovely visits in the two nearby villages of Katigiorgis and Lavkos that are easily accessible from Kastri.
If you are fond of alternative tourism, you can stay at a tent within the organized camping that operates during the summer months. The camping is located just across the shore and has all the conveniences hosting many campers every summer.
