The beach
The extended sandy beach of Mikro is located is southeast Pelion on the Aegean side. A charming beach ideal for relaxing with clear turquoise waters and fine gold sand with tiny pebbles. This beautiful scenery is completed with the various rocks around and inside the sea. Mikro beach has no significant facilities as it is overshadowed by the neighboring busy beach of Platanias that offers a complete set of amenities. However, this does not mean that is not chosen by many seeking for serenity and quietness.
The beach is located in the homonymous settlement, Mikro that as the name implies, is small (Mikro=Small). It is a lovely sea resort, ideal for summer vacations within nature situated near Platanias and is the port of Lavkos in the side of the Aegean Sea. At the village, you will enjoy all the amenities for pleasant peaceful holidays as it features rooms to let, hotels and dining facilities offering fresh fish and local delicacies. Being there, you can visit the sights, the stone fountain “Mikro” or the cape “Sarakiniko” and if you are lucky enough to be in Mikro during the beginning of August, you will enjoy live music, dances and songs at the fair of Sotiros.
Access to the beach is quite easy and can be done in many ways. It is 3km drive from Lafkos, a small hike from the beach of Platanias if you happen to be there, or even with a touring fishing boat from a nearby beach.
