The beach

Agioi Saranta beach got its name from the homonymous church (Holy Forty) that exists in the area, the beach is located south of Chorefto, 600m from its beach. It is a large coast with thin sand and thin white pebbles. As most Aegean beaches it has turquoise waters that captivate every visitor and gives it an exotic charm. This exotic scenery is completed with the surrounding rocks that offer shade to the many summer visitors. The most distinctive rock is the “Monk” called so because the shape resembles that of a stooped monk. It is the area’s trademark and is used by the daring ones for diving.

The absence of human intervention is shown by the "primitive" landscape, as the area has not been developed for tourism. It features basic amenities with few umbrellas and sunbeds and occasionally has a lifeguard. At the end of the beach, a beach bar exists. Agioi Saranta is suggested for relaxed swims and rest of course without missing crowds, as it is preferred by many for their summer excursions.

Access to the beach is relatively easy through a narrow downhill road from Makrirachi.

Since going to Agioi Saranta, you can visit the neighboring Chorefto with its impressive beach of 2.5km in length, one of the most organized beaches of Pelion with water activities and lots of dining facilities.

However, be cautious as in most beaches of the Aegean Sea such as this one it can get dangerous as great waves rise when northern winds are blowing.
