The beach
The beach of Horefto is located at the homonym village of Pelion and has served for years as the port of Zagora. It is a very famous gorgeous beach of about 2.5 kilometers in length with clear blue waters, fine sand and thousands of tourists visiting it every year. The beach is covered with pale golden sand and pebbles, while around the sea the field is “open” offering spectacular horizon views and surrounded by verdant vegetation and plane trees that in some points reach up till the sea. Next to the beach is village’s small harbor that during the 18th century was the most famous port of eastern Pelion.
During summer the beach has great tourism activity, this is due to the fact of the easy access, one can come with either a car or a bus from the neighboring Zagora and the many amenities offered to visitors. The village has many dining and entertainment options and also accommodation that can offer a great stay.
After you enjoy your swim in Horefto, you can visit the two neighboring beaches, Parisaina and Analipsi. They’re remote and unorganized however, their unspoiled beauty will captivate you. You can go there either by walking the path starting from the north part of Horefto or drive from the village road.
Horefto was voted as Pelion's most favourite beach for 2013 by our facebook audience.
