The beach
Below the beautiful village of Pouri, are some secluded and steep, but nevertheless magical beaches. One of them is Elitsa, located only 3km away from Pouri with easy access from there.
It is a small beach that fascinates visitors with the wild beauty of its virgin environment. The beach is made of pebbles and large rocks while the waters have also some large sheer rocks. This rocky scenery is surrounded by verdant vegetation offering shade and breeze during the hot summer months.
This beach is ideal for relaxing swims in Aegean waters, away from the crowds, as it doesn’t have any modern tourism facilities or a lifeguard. So don’t plant visiting this beach if you’re seeking comfortable amenities.
At Elitsa, you can indulge yourself into alternative activities such as spearfishing or camping. A nice idea is also to hike into one of the (rough) trails or discover the nearby beaches of Analipsi or Ovrios. Once you finish your swim, you can go by the nearby chapel of Agion Panton (All Saints) a picturesque church monument with a stone roof that gets hit by the waves. The area there is stunning, with a yard offering wonderful view towards the sea. The chapel is located in a small elevated area above the sea accessed through a path.
